Pink Floyd connections...

A few weeks ago, the back catalogue of Pink Floyd was added to Spotify. There had been a long running campaign to get the band's music onto the streaming service. I saw the band play live at Maine Road in Manchester on the 8.8.88 - they started at 8 minutes past 8....
I've enjoyed working through the albums over the last few weeks while I work.

One of the founders of Hipgnosis: creators of the iconic sleeve for the 'Dark side of the Moon' album visited King's Ely school (where I shall be teaching from September) in the last few weeks. Aubrey Powell is an Old Elean.

Storm Thorgerson, who sadly died recently, was the other key designer at Hipgnosis.
When Pink Floyd released their Division Bell album, he created a design for the album cover, featuring two huge metal heads. If you look closely at the  gap between the mouths, you'll see Ely Cathedral. The Old Palace which is now part of the school sits right next to the main entrance of this stunning building.

Lots of connections....
What are your geographical connections with particular albums ?
Perhaps you teach or live somewhere that featured on an album cover, or inspired a particular artist, or perhaps they were born near, or attended your school...
