Millsands, Sheffield

My journey to and from Solly Street, and the GA HQ takes me past Millsands. This is an area of Sheffield down by the riverside, and has been redeveloped recently (as have large parts of Sheffield)
Last year, the area was in the news because it was one of the areas affected by the 2007 floods. The image below, by Flickr user Pitsmoor shows one of the offices in the area being cleared out after the flood waters subsided.
There are also quite a lot of flats in the area.
The Millsands area is back in the news again today.
Comment below if you know the reason why, and I'll tell more later...

The map is courtesy of Google Maps, and Solly Street is in the bottom left hand section of the map area if you weren't sure where the GA is based.

UPDATE: Well done to Anne G for spotting the 'connection'...
Millsands area of Sheffield was featured in the news today as one of the areas which has lost the most value in the properties there as part of the credit crunch. Hope nobody we know owns property there...
